What is Reiki?
Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui.
The word "Reiki" is composed of two Japanese characters: "Rei" (meaning "spiritual" or "universal") and "Ki" (meaning "life force energy" or "vital energy").
Therefore, Reiki can be understood as "spiritually guided life force energy."
The practice of Reiki is based on the belief that there is a universal life force energy that flows through all living beings and is essential for their well-being. When this life force energy is low or blocked, it can lead to physical, emotional, or mental imbalances and dis-eases.
By channeling Reiki energy through their hands, practitioners aim to remove energy blockages and promote the natural healing processes of the recipient's body.

Hello, I'm Germaine!
I am the owner and artist of Empath Designs®.
I am a Visionary Artist creating art for mindfulness and self-connection. I'm also a Reiki Master and Shamanic Healing enthusiast with 4 years of energy healing experience.
I am passionate about infusing creativity and healing energies into the lives of others.
Through my artistic expressions and Reiki practice, I am on the path of helping individuals with their journey of transformation, empowering them to unlock their true potential and find inner peace.
I strive to inspire personal growth and transformation with others, and look forward to helping you with your journey.

My Story
How my Path led me to Energy Healing
Growing up in Malaysia, I already had exposure with Buddhism and Taoism practices, but it's only in my 30s that I started to find my connection with myself, spirit and the Universe.
My spiritual journey began in my mid 20's when I started experiencing intense sleep paralysis out of the blue. I'd tried so many things and spoke to many people to help me face my fears of going through sleep paralysis.
In order to work through my fears, I began repeating mantras and affirmations every night as part of my sleep routine. At that time, I didn't realise I was also practicing mindfulness.
Over time my sleep paralysis went away, particularly after I surrendered to the process.
I'd also begun to explore more about new age knowledge, aromatherapy, mandalas, astrology, numerology, energetic healing and eventually shamanism in my mid 30s.
When I decided to learn Reiki 1, I had intended to practice only for myself. Reiki 2 gave me the insight and ability to infuse Reiki into my artwork. Reiki Masters then opened the doors for me to be able to serve others with my gifts.

While it can be used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional treatments, it should NOT be used as a replacement for medical advice or treatment.

How it works
What's involved in your Reiki session
Reiki practitioners hold their sessions differently to others.
Before and after every session with a client, the space and all crystals used are thoroughly cleansed and protected to create a safe container for you.
I combine traditional Reiki practice with Shamanic techniques and tools.
Your session may include crystals, essential oils, plants, bells, tuning forks, and artwork.
When you experience a Reiki session with me, you may:
- Feel an immediate sense of calm and groundedness
- Feel slight tingly sensations in your body
- See visions in your mind's eye like in meditation
- Doze off and perhaps dream as well
- Giggle, yawn, cry, burp and/or feel a myriad of emotions come up to the surface
- All of the above, some or none at all.
Every Reiki session is different. Trust that whatever you experience in the session is meant for you at that time.
You may also experience shifts after your session as your energy body requires time to integrate.

Booking a Session with Me
I am currently only available to do remote sessions.
1. Use the Square appointment form below to select your time and session type.
2. Fill out the client form with your information and sign the waiver.
3. Before your session, set an intention of what you'll like to get out of the session (eg: clarity, peace, less stress, etc).
4. During your allocated time, do try to find a relaxing space to settle into or spend some time outside in nature if possible. It isn't necessary to lay down on a bed however you may choose to if you want.
5. After your session, I will give you a phone call to check in with you. I will also send an email 1 week after your session as a follow-up check in.
